That’s me, I’m an experienced children’s book illustrator, this is just one of many creatively illustrated pieces I have achieved, but it is my first time writing my own children’s story. It’s been in my ideas note book since I first became a parent, nine years ago.
During my own children’s bedtime protests I found myself telling them what I’d been told as a child, count sheep! The story has grown from there.
We would tell this bedtime story together each night adding different characters, items or activities into the mix, as just counting sheep wasn’t going to work for them!!! lol.
I combined all the best bits and created this story for you to enjoy.
Meet the characters…
Tiny Tilly
She is a teeny weeny hairy caterpillar.
Tilly is very quiet and has big warm eyes. Nothing stops her, she’s a determined wee thing with big ideas. Her size isn’t going to stop her.
In order to become part of the Dream Team, she practiced jumping over flowerbeds as much as she could. She does use some tools to help and loves being part of a team. She looks forward to one day turning into a butterfly and viewing the world from the sky.
Fluff
They are a fuzzy fuzzy pom pom.
They decided to join the Dream Team as they didn’t like doing what pom poms were expected to do, hanging around on the top of a woolly hat, they wanted to try something different.
Fluff is a chatty, happy and positive ball of fuzz. They are very excited to be out and about. They absolutely love jumping and can do any type of jump you can think of. You’ll never meet a more positive and helpful character. They enjoy being free and doing something they love.
La-La
He is a large lanky Llama.
He used to be in a field full of cows, but they weren’t very friendly and just weren’t into the same things. La-La loves jumping and having a laugh, but the cows just liked to chew and moo.
La-La always thought there was a team out there somewhere that he could fit into better. He just wanted to make friends and when he found out about this Dream Team he knew this was it. He always try to do nice things, baking cakes or picking flowers for his friends. So doing something to help you go to sleep was perfect!
